PURPOSE:To manufacture uncalcined lump ore for a blast furnace which is not sintered and excellent in strength and reducing property by mixing powdery iron ore with adherent hydrocarbon mixture as a binder at high temp., forming and cooling it. CONSTITUTION:In case of manufacturing lump ore as raw material for a blast furnace from powdery iron ore, 1-6wt% adherent hydrocarbon such as asphalt, pitch and solvent-extracted coal as a binder are added to finely pulverized iron ore and mixed at about 150 deg.C. The adherent hydrocarbon such as asphalt becomes liquid from solid or semisolid at this temp. and is mixed sufficiently with the powdery iron ore. When the mixture is compressed and formed with a roll or the like and thereafter cooled, it is coagulated, solidified and becomes large in strength and also the above-mentioned binder is acted as a reducing agent and thereby lump ore which is unpulverized in the inside of the blast furnace and excellent in reducing propety is obtained.
