<p>PURPOSE:To reduce ozone concn. in the exhaust air from an electrophotographic copying machine to below an allowable limit without elevating the temp. of the exhaust air in the copying machine by providing a space having a specified thickness and periphery opened to external air to between a face having an opening for the exhaust air and the surface of the ozone decomposing filter. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic copying machine, an ozone decomposing filter layer 8 such as honeycomb active carbon filter, etc. is provided to just below a transporting fan 5 for transfer paper and apart with a certain space from an opening face of exhaust air outlet 6 provided to a base plate 12 of the main body of the copying machine. The periphery of the space is opened to the external air. The exhaust air passes through the ozone decomposing filter layer 8, and discharged at the same time to the external air from the periphery of the space. The larger the thickness 13 of the space, the easier the flow of the exhaust air and the less the degree of temp. rise in the copying machine due to pressure drop. But in this case the amt. of the exhaust air passing through the filter is reduced causing increase of ozone concn. at the outside of the space. Therefore, the thickness 13 of the space is preferred to be as small as possible within a range causing no temp. rise over an allowable limit.</p> |
