PURPOSE:To obtain a screen printing plate material as well as other printing plate materials superior in water and solvent resistance and film characteristics by dispersing a water-dispersible polymer and a photopolymerizable unsatd. monomer into an aq. soln. of a polymer adding styrylpyridinium or styrylquinolium group. CONSTITUTION:The continuous phase of an aq. emulsion or dispersion type resin compsn. is composed of an aq. soln. of a saponified polyvinyl acetate polymer adding styrylpyrydinium or styrylquinolium group. Such an aq. emulsion or dispersion can be prepared by dissolving a water-soluble photodimerizable polymer in a prescribed amt. of water to form an aq. soln. 1, on the other hand, preparing an aq. dispersion of a water-dispersible polymer 2, dissolving a photopolymn. initiator in a liquid mixture of a photoactivatable unsatd. compd. and a small amt. of org. solvent to be used when needed to form a soln. 3, further adding components such as heat polymn. inhibitor, to said soln. 3 to prepare a soln. 4, mixing it with the soln. 1 and the dispersion 2, and stirring the mixture in a kneader, a screw type stirrer, or the like to emulsify said mixture. |
