RECIPROCATIVE ROLLING METHOD

PURPOSE:To increase the yield of rolling and fuel consumption in a tandem mill installation installed with a driven duplex type horizontal mill in proximity to a non-driven duplex type vertical mill by rotating 90 deg. a material and subjecting the material to plural passes of reciprocative rolling. CONSTITUTION:The driven duplex type horizontal mill 6 is installed in proximity to the inlet side and outlet side of the non-driven duplex type vertical mill 7. The material 1a is rotated 90 deg. at least >=1 times between passes in such tandem mill installation 4a. The material is then subjected to >=2 passes of reciprocative rolling. The yield of rolling is increased and the fuel consumption is improved by the above-mentioned method.
