PURPOSE:To generate pictures of a desired output form by making it possible to designate the state of pictures different from the display state of pictures displayed by a display means. CONSTITUTION:In case of picture formation, numerical values to be counted up are set to a one-line data counter 52 and DELTAt counter 51 preliminarily by a CPU32. The set value of the counter 52 is determined by the original size of picture information. With respect to the set value of the counter 51, the set value corresponding to a blank space on an output original is calculated by the CPU32 when the blank space is indicated on a keyboard in accordance with a purpose by an operator, and this calculated value is set to the counter 51. An optional blank space can be added to this output picture in the horizontal direction. Further, required blank spaces can be added to the front end of the picture in the vertical direction and the horizontal direction.
