PURPOSE:To perform easily the fitting of upper part can body and lower part can body by inserting respectively upper part can body and lower part can body into a fixed die and mobile die consisting of plural divided pieces and by press- fitting without allowing to collide both end faces of can bodies with each other. CONSTITUTION:Upper part can body 1 is held by a holding tool 18 and inserted into an aperture part 8 of a fixed die 6 and the end face 1a1' of an opening end part 1a is engaged with a differential step part 15 and a curl part 1a1 is held in roundness. A lower part can body 2 which is on a receiving stand 19 is then inserted into an aperture part 14 of a mobile die 7 consisting of plural divided pieces 9 by a pushing-in tool 20. Roundness is made when the end face 2a1 of an opening end 2a is passed through a short cylindrical part 14a. When the insertion is progressed further the end face 2a1 enters the part close to the curl part 1a1. When the pushing-in of the lower part can body 2 is taken place by pushing-in tool 20 with holding the upper can body 1 by the holding tool 18 until the inner face of the curl part 1a1 and the outer face of midway of a shoulder part 2c are brought into contact, the press fitting is completed and fitted can body is formed. |
