METHOD FOR PREVENTING SULFURIZATION OF CAST STEEL CASTING

PURPOSE:To prevent sulfurization to a casting surface by adding a specific amt. of antimony pentaoxide contg. an alkali metal and alkaline earth metal into a casting mold or coating a mold coating material added with the specific amt. of the antimony pentaoxide to the mold. CONSTITUTION:The antimony pentaoxide contg. 30-80mol% the alkali metal or alkaline earth metal alone or in combination by mol of antimony is added into the casting mold at 0.5-10wt% and/or at 5-30wt% by solid content in the mold coating material in the stage of producing a cast steel casting by the org. self- curing casting mold contg. org. sulfonic acid as a catalyst. The antimony pentaoxide to be added into the casting mold is pulverous powder. The sulfurization to the casting surface is thus prevented.
