PURPOSE:To obtain a dust collector having superior dust-collecting efficiency simple and inexpensive structure requiring only little work for removal of settled sludge in a settling basin by constructing a dust collector so as to remove the dust by falling naturally by the weight of the dust itself and using shower additionally. CONSTITUTION:Several numbers of horizontal flue 1 closed at the top ends are provided in a dust collecting box. When sooty smoke flows slowly downward through funnel-shaped downflow cylinders 2 for the sooty smoke provided plurally to the bottom side of each flue, relatively heavy soot dusts fall down directly and accumulate in a fallen dust chamber 5 after passing through dust guiding cylinders 3 and dust falling holes 4 provided to a slant bed plate 6. Unfallen fine dust flows upward toward an smoke outlet 10 of the dust collector through a clearance 8, but the fine dust is absorbed by shower water ejected from trickling pipes 9. The shower falls on the slant bed plate 6 and flows toward an outlet 7 connecting to a settling basin.
