The present invention relates to cash settlements for buying goods and paying for services. An established transaction settlement system between seller and buyer by means of cash and fast growing electronic money turnover system are combined in the present facility and method. The main drawback of paper money, pertaining to their physical deterioration, and that of electronic payments, pertaining to the compulsory authentication of an owner, are eliminated by means of code data carrier which, in the simplest case, is incorporated as a barcode on a common paper carrier. In order to confirm the buyer's paying capacity, presentation of such carrier is sufficient. The seller scans data from the carrier, inputs purchase value data, and forwards the information to a central processing unit. Central processing unit effects the settlement and returns information on the balance, which is brought by the seller onto a similar carrier and handed out to the buyer as the change together with the sold goods or the rendered services. 2 |
