CERAMIC RING FOR GUIDE ROLL

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent the fissure accident of a ceramic roll by converting an annular intermediate layer as a means for joining the inside and outside rings of the ceramic ring to a joint layer by a hot hydrostatic method from ceramic powder. CONSTITUTION:The inside ring 6 consisting of a metallic material such as steel having the outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the outside ring 5 consisting of a ceramic material is inserted into the outside ring 5 and is held concentrically therein. The assembly is sealed in a hermetic vessel and the powder ceramics 7 is compacted and unitized by the hot hydrostatic method to evacuate the inside of the vessel and to apply a high temp. and high pressure thereto, by which the ceramics is converted to the annular intermediate layer joined to the inside and outside rings. The joint strength to provide the high tensile strength at an ordinary temp. is obtd. by such method.
