PURPOSE:To prevent fine cracks of the grain boundary of a weld metal, etc. by incorporating specific weight % of Al, Mo and Ni into a core wire and limiting Si and Cr to prescribed % or below. CONSTITUTION:The components of the core wire for welding are constituted to contain 0.18-2.0% Al, 10-38% Mo and 60-88% Ni and to contain Si limited to <=0.15% and Cr to <=5.0% respectively. The adequate content of Al in the alloy contg. >=60% Ni provides the higher effect of deoxidation and can clean up the grain boundary without spoiling the characteristics of the weld metal. The five cracks which may arise at the grain boundary of the weld metal is consequently prevented. Ni assures low-temp. toughness and Mo increases strength and prevents high-temp. cracking. The five cracks of the grain boundary of the weld metal is thus prevented by said components coupled with the limitation of Si and Cr. The core wire for welding which provides good bead appearance is obtd. |
