<p>PURPOSE:To synthesize a 1-4C hydrocarbon, e.g. methane, ethane, propane or butane, in high yield, by introducing carbon monozide and hydrogen alternately into a catalyst layer with a specific period. CONSTITUTION:Carbon monoxide and hydrogen are alternately introduced into a catalyst for synthesizing a hydrocarbon, e.g. Fe, Co or Ni, at 200-500 deg.C at 0.2- 20sec period to synthetize the hydrocarbon. The time of introduction is preferably such that the theroretical equivalent ratio required for synthesizing the desired hydrocarbon is obtained. For example, the theoretical equivalent ratio of CO to H2 is 1:3 when CH4 is synthesized. If the molar concentrations of both gases are equal, CO and H2 are preferably introduced at 1:3 introduction time ratio in one period. In case the introduction time is equal, the molar concentration ratio of CO to H2 is preferably 1:3.</p> |
