PURPOSE:To minimize the misalignment of a rotary machine casing accompanying with a thermal elongation in the casing, by heating a support member for the casing until the thermal elongation of the support member becomes still, before starting a rotary machine and then by operating the rotary machine with the temperature of this condition being maintained. CONSTITUTION:Of support members 3, 4a, 4b for the casing of a gas turbine, the rear side support plates 4a, 4b where the temperature of heat transmitted from the casing is highest are heated upto a temperature at which the thermal elongation thereof becomes still, and then the gas turbine is started and operated in the condition in which the temperature is maintained. After starting the gas turbine takes a specific output 27, and after 5-6hr elapses, the thermal balance of the turbine due to the operation thereof falls in a steady state condition so that the temperatures of both front support plate 3 and rear support plates 4a, 4b follow up the temperature 26 of a turbine wheel space 25 and are still. With this arrangement the misalignment of the casing accompanying with a thermal elongation therein may be made minimum. |
