<p>An iron-based damping alloy sheet of 2.0 mm or less thickness that without needing expensive addition elements, such as Cr and Co, ensures favorable damping properties realizing a loss coefficient of 0.040 or higher; and a process for producing the same. There is provided a damping alloy sheet of 2.0 mm or less thickness characterized by containing, by mass, 0.005% or less C, 0.05 to 1.5% Mn, 0.2% or less P, 0.02% or less S, 0.005% or less N, at least one element selected from among 1.0 to 3.5% Si and 1.0 to 7.0% Sol.Al, and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities, and characterized by having an average crystal grain diameter of 50 to 500 mum, a maximum relative magnetic permeability of 2000 or higher and a residual magnetic flux density of 0.90 T or below.</p> |
