PURPOSE:To enable sure sepn. of a transfer material without scratching the surface of an image carrying body and without disturbing an image by adhering a self-adheisve separating means having a self-adhesive agent to the surface of the transfer material on the side having no toner image and stripping forcibly the transfer material from the surface of the image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:A separating roller 8 consisting of a sponge roller 8a on which a self-adhesive tape 8b is wound is disposed on the down stream in the transfer section of a transfer electrifier 5. The rear of the transfer material P is adhered to the roller 8 and said material is separated from a photosensitive body 1 when the transfer material P which is subjected to transfer arrives at the sectioi where the body 1 contacts with the roller 8. The transfer material is then forcibly separated by a separating claw 9 disposed in proximity to the roller 8 and is conveyed to a fixing position by a conveying belt 10. The side of the material P having no image is adhered and therefore the self-adhesive sepn. by the roller 8 does not affect the image plane and does not injure the surface of the body 1. |
