PURPOSE:To obtain an injection of nicardipine hydrochloride having a given concentration and stability useful as an enhancer for cerebral blood flow or a hypotensor, by dissolving nicardipine hydrochloride and a polyhydric alcohol with a specific concentration in water, followed hy pH adjustment. CONSTITUTION:Nicardipine hydrochloride and 2-7w/v%, preferably about 5w/v% polyhydric alcohol (e.g., sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol, etc.) are dissolved in water to give an injection having a given concentration and stability. By adjusting the aqueous solution to 2.5-5pH the effect is found to increase extremely.
