SPIN RESONANCE TOMOGRAPH

The spin resonance tomograph comprises a magnet system; there is provided along an axis of the system an elongate support (19, 20) of variable length for a measurement object. The measurement object is further surrounded with coil systems in order to be subjected to a field gradient and to be irradiated by a high frequency field. The magnet system has a longitudinal opening (11) to hold the iron body (10) surrounding the measurement object. In the peripheral areas of the opening (11) coil segments (12, 12'; 13, 13') are extended in the direction of the opening, are bent outwardly at the outlet of the opening (11) and are joined above said opening (11).
