PURPOSE:To arrange so that high-quality printing may be achieved smoothly and speedily without enlarging the size of a printer by performing the printing under a condition where a microoscillation is given to a thermal head as so designed. CONSTITUTION:Even when a platen presses paper with high pressing force, a smooth paper feed is achieved by printing while a thermal head is microoscillated. An insulation substrate 11 is composed of pressed ceramic with an electrode 13, 14 provided at both surfaces. A heating resistance 16 is formed on the upper part of the electrode 13 through a grazed layer 15 and an electric wiring layer 17 is formed and connected to both sides of the electrode. The electrodes 13, 14 are opposed to each other in a comb-like arrangement, and connected to a power supply 18. Accordingly, if an electric field is applied to the electrodes 13, 14, the insulation substrate 11 is microoscillated. The ideal electric field is pref. more than 20kHz. |
