A two-part circumferentially non-closed shell (12) consists of a sheet-metal blank which is trapezoidal in the developed view and consequently has in the bent shape for use two rectilinear side edges (14, 16) which converge at an angle. A curved wedge (20) has corresponding grooves (22) which run at an angle and in which the side edges of the shell (12) engage. Located on the upper edge of the shell (12) is a bridge (24), through which a threaded piece (26) extends, the lower end of which is welded onto the wedge (20). The wedge (20) can be drawn towards the bridge (24) with a screw nut (28), as a result of which the diameter of the shell (12) increases so that a clamping extending over the entire circumference is achieved in the chimney. <IMAGE>
