The invention relates to (a) a magneto-optical recording medium having a heat-resistant guide track, a magnetic coating with a vertical magnetic anisotropy and a transparent protective coating on a heat-resistant substrate in the stated sequence and, furthermore, also modifications of this medium; (b) a magneto-optical recording medium which has on a heat-resistant substrate a magnetic coating with a guide track, which exhibits a vertical magnetic anisotropy, and furthermore has a transparent protective coating in the stated sequence and relates finally to modifications of this medium; and (c) a magneto-optical recording medium having a heat-resistant substrate, a magnetic coating with a vertical magnetic anisotropy, a non-heatproof or resistant guide track and a transparent protective coating in the stated sequence and finally also modifications of this recording medium.
