A central longitudinal bore (41) with a single step is formed in the housing (10) of a directional control valve (11). Bearing against the shoulder thereby formed and serving as valve seat (44) is a cup-like valve body (45) in whose opening (55) a closure part (56) is arranged in an axially movable manner. The closure part (56) has a central, continuous stepped bore (57) having a single step, whose shoulder thereby formed serves as valve seat (58) for a pilot-controllable spherical valve body (59). A second valve seat (70) formed in a closure part (61) of the longitudinal bore (41) is allocated to this valve body (59). If the valve body (59) is resting on its valve seat (58), no pressure medium can leak through to the tank (24) during lifting of a working cylinder (28). <IMAGE>
