The cassette serves for storing elongate articles, in particular tools such as twist drills, screw taps and the like. It consists of a lid part (2) and a bottom part (4), attached thereto in an articulated manner, and a receiving part (5) arranged on the bottom part (4) with guide receivers for the articles (1) which are aligned substantially perpendicular to the articulated axle (3) of the bottom part. Each guide receiver has two guide recesses (6, 7) whose first recess (6) forms a central and substantially clearance-free holder for the article (1) and whose second recess (7) has a shape which allows a pivoting movement of the article about the first guide recess in the plane perpendicular to the articulated axle of the bottom part. The lid part (2) has a display edge (8) which projects on the side of the receiving part (5) facing the articulated axle (3) relative to the bottom part (4) when the cassette is open and a restoring edge (9) for the articles (1) which projects on the side of the receiving part (5) facing away from the articulated axle (3) relative to the bottom part (4) when the cassette is closed. The display edge (8) pivots the articles (1) away from the bottom part (4) with their end facing away from the articulated axle (3), while the restoring edge (9) pivots the articles (1) back into a position which is substantially parallel to the bottom part (4). <IMAGE>
