DATA CARRIER AND METHOD OF RECORDING THEREON

FIELD: physics, computer facilities. ^ SUBSTANCE: data carrier includes several layers of user's record, each incorporating areas for the user's data to be recorded thereon by write-read head. Data is written in layer-by-layer sequence starting from closest to aforesaid write/read head to the most distant from the latter. Every subsequent layer area in the user's data area being written gets decreased compared with previous layer, layers' sequence being counted relative to the said write/read head. Note here that every layer comprises the area being written from the user's data area and that of optimum power control (OPC). ^ EFFECT: identical write/read characteristics of multiple record layers. ^ 7 cl, 7 dwg
