Hydraulic clearance adjustment element in a valve gear for internal combustion engines

The invention relates to a hydraulic clearance adjustment element for a valve gear for internal combustion engines, which comprises a tappet cylinder open on one side and a piston guided in this so as to be in the stroke direction. The piston has a reservoir chamber open to the lubricant circuit of the internal combustion engine and by means of the tappet cylinder encloses a working chamber, which is connected to the reservoir chamber by way of a duct. The duct is closed by a spring-loaded valve arranged in the working chamber. In order to obtain an optimum volumetric ratio between reservoir chamber and working chamber without adversely affecting the overall length of the adjustment element, the valve has a disc-shaped valve element which has a tapered seat and is provided with a pilot pin projecting into the duct.
