PURPOSE:The titled composition having little possibility of occurrence of minute pores such as voids in the interstice at the molded joint of a crosslinked PE cable, made by incorporating a specified crosslinking agent into PE. CONSTITUTION:About 2wt% crosslinking agent having a decomposition initiating temperature of 140 deg.C or higher (e.g. 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-dihexane) is incorporated into PE. EFFECT:Since the extrusion temperature can be as high as 140 deg.C or above, the composition can be extruded easily without increasing the resin pressure, and the interstice at the molded joint of an electrical cable can be filled completely with the composition, having little possibility of troubles such as the damage to joint configuration and mismatching of inner semiconducting layers of the cable.
