Control clutch

It is the object of the invention to provide a control clutch which transmits a defined maximum rated torque and is largely independent of the transmission characteristics of the viscous coupling. It should also be possible to supply the viscous coupling and the friction-disc coupling respectively with a fluid which is optimum for them. To achieve this object, the viscous coupling (5) and the friction-disc clutch (11) are separated fluid-tightly from one another by an axially displaceable annular piston (3) and the axial displacement path of the annular piston (3) is limited by a stop (17) arranged on its side facing the friction-disc clutch (11), at least one compression spring (8) is arranged between the annular piston (9) and the pressure plate (10) arranged in front of the friction-disc clutch (11) on the annular-piston side, and the viscous coupling (5) has a negligibly small transmissible rated torque as compared with the friction-disc clutch (11). <IMAGE>
