PURPOSE:To provide a compsn. having improved flow characteristics while inhibiting lower in heat resistance, by mixing a specified diamide compd. with a polyphenylene ether or a mixture thereof with a styrene resin. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. is obtd. by mixing a diamide compd. of formula I [wherein R<1> is a residue of a 1-20C branched or straight-chain (un)saturated hydrocarbon, a residue of an alycyclic hydrocarbon, a residue of an arom. hydrocarbon or a residue of a derivative thereof; R<2>, R<3> are each a residue of a 1-10C branched or straight-chain (un)saturated hydrocarbon, a residue of an alicyclic hydrocarbon, a residue of an arom, hydrocarbon or a residue of a derivative thereof] such as a compd. of formula II with a polyphenylene ether [e.g. poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)ether] or a compsn. consisting of the polyphenylene ether and a styrene resin. By mixing the diamide compd., a polyphenylene ether compsn. having greatly improved flow characteristics (moldability) can be obtd. without causing lowering in heat resistance.
