Piston for internal combustion engines

The invention relates to a piston for internal combustion engines, with a piston body consisting of an aluminium alloy and a surface layer composed of an FeCrAl alloy. The piston is manufactured by first producing the surface layer by means of thermal spraying in a mould, then applying a thin binding layer of Al and finally casting the actual piston body on top of the binding layer.
