The invention relates to an expanding dowel for anchorage in drilled holes which are preferably produced such that they expand conically inwards. The expanding dowel consists of an expanding part (1) which is supported on the base of the drilled hole and has an expanding cone (2), onto whose expanding cone an expanding sleeve (4) can be driven and onto whose end opposite the expanding cone means for the attachment or suspension of objects are arranged. In order to simplify the production process, the expanding part (1) is stamped from steel plate and the expanding cone (2) is rolled from a corresponding developed projection, and the roll gap (6) in the envelope surface of the expanding cone is finally calibrated. <IMAGE>
