Starting from the object of providing a unit for the treatment of laundry water with which partial reuse of the laundry water as well as of the unused detergent substances is made possible while observing the limits of waste water treatment before introduction into the public waste water system, in a unit with at least one processing unit which is located downstream of the washing unit and has an ultrafiltration system, the washing unit is located downstream of the permeate outlet of the ultrafiltration system via a return system, and the processing unit contains a buffer container which is connected on the inlet side via an inlet system to the washing unit and directly to the retentate outlet of the ultrafiltration system and on the outlet side via a delivery pump to the inlet of the ultrafiltration system and via a discharge system to a processing system.
