PURPOSE:To arrange so that the enlargement and reduction of a recorded image size may be achieved at an optional magnification without deteriorating its resolution by controlling a dot area and an interdot pitch and projecting one input pixel dot to one output pixel dot. CONSTITUTION:If recording is started by the control of CPU21, an image signal is read from RAM16 by an address which was read from an address counter 18, and the signal is inputted to a pulse width control circuit 14. Then a voltage pulse forming dots of an area ratio (n) is produced as a drive signal for piezo elements with a clock from PIT15, and said voltage is outputted to a recording head 11, thus causing the ink to be injected from the head. In addition, a recording head movement circuit 12 and a recording part movement circuit 13 shift a mechanism to a position where an interdot pitch is (n)1/2 time by a clock from said PIT15 for every printed dot. As a result of the repetition of the afore-mentioned action, it is possible to magnify the interdot pitch (n)1/2 time to n time magnification of the dot area when recording at an n time magnification is performed. In this way, an optional magnification applies to the recording. |
