发明名称 METALLIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL REINFORCED BY COMPOSITE FIBERS
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a fiber reinforced metallic composite material contg. uniformly a large amt. of composite reinforcing fibers by incorporating W fibers which are coated with SiC or B on the surface and have high specific weight into a matrix metal. CONSTITUTION:The W fibers 3 having about 10mum diameter are passed through the inside of a reactor 4 and a gaseous raw material is supplied therein through an inlet 7 and is heated in a heating furnace 6 so that the thin film consisting of SiC or B is formed on the surface of the W fibers 3. The fibers are cut to about 5-25mm. length and are mixed with the powder of the matrix metal consisting of Ti, Ni or the alloy thereof having excellent resistance to heat and corrosion. The resulted mixture is pressurized and sintered by a hot hyrostatic pressurizing method. The specific gravity of the W fibers used is 0.9-1.2 times the specific gravity of said matrix metal and is the extremely approximate value to the matrix metal. A large amt. of the W fibers can be therefore uniformly dispersed and mixed. The fiber reinforced metallic composite material having the excellent resistance to corrosion and heat and having the high strength by the reinforcing fibers is obtd.
