PURPOSE:To obtain the titled alloy superior in corrosion resistance and strength, and consisting of a specified compsn. of Mn, Si, Mg and Al. CONSTITUTION:The casting aluminum alloy consists of 1.5-4.0wt% Mn, 0.4- 1.5% Si, 1.3-4.0% Mg and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. Good castability as Al-Mn alloy is held, suitable quantities of Si and Mg are contained to improve effectively the strength, further, the content range in Si, Mg in which corrosion resistance is deteriorated remarkably, is avoided to ensure sufficiently the corrosion resistance in Al-Mn alloy. In said alloy, resistance in burning to mold is given by containing 0.2-1.5% Fe, and the casting aluminum alloy suitable for die casting can be obtained by avoiding suitably deteriorations of toughness and corrosion resistance due to coarse crystallized particles.
