PURPOSE:To obtain a color toner superior in humidity resistance, sharp in color, and long in life by using a styrene type resin and a specified insoluble azo pigment as essential components. CONSTITUTION:The color toner is essentially composed of the insoluble azo pigment represented by the formula (X, Y are each halogen, methyl, methoxy, ethoxy, or nitro, and the introduction of halogen into X, Y is effective for enhancing negative electrostatic chargeability and humidity resistance), and the styrene type resin, i.e., a polymer of styrene type monomer, such as styrene, methylstyrene, butylstyrene, dimethylstyrene, chlorostyrene, or dichlorostyrene, or a copolymer of some of these styrene type monomers with other vinyl type monomer, and above all, a styrene-acrylate or methacrylate copolymer are effective. |
