摘要 The invention relates to a process for a high temperature-resistant, non-magnetic roller material and to the material itself, a steel being subjected to a solution heat treatment by heating the steel to 1050-1200 DEG C for 1 to 20 hours and subsequently cooling the steel in air or to an extent which is not less than that in the case of cooling in air. The steel contains the following constituents in per cent by weight: 0.10 to 0.50% of carbon, up to 1.0% of silicon, 15.0 to 30.0% of manganese, up to 2.0% of nickel, 5.0 to 15% of chromium, 0.3 to 2.0% of vanadium and 0.2 to 3.0% of aluminium, the remainder being iron and unavoidable impurities. The steel is then subjected to precipitation hardening at 600 to 800 DEG C for 1 to 50 hours. The roller material thus obtained has outstanding strength at high temperatures and resistance to thermal fatigue, thermal deformation and wear. <IMAGE>
