PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a copying operation by providing a switch which can be operated by the operator while the operator holds the handle part of a cover and a cover switch which turns on when the cover is closed and eliminating the operation for pushing down the switch by the right hand with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:The switch 6 of a copying machine is disposed in the handle 8 part of the cover 7. The cover switch 9 is disposed to part of the bottom 10 of the cover. The body 10 pushes the switch 9 and the switch 9 conducts when the cover 7 is closed. Said switch is connected in series to the switch 6 of the handle 8 and copying is not started unless both of the switch 9 and the switch 6 are conducted. The operator is thus able to engage solely in the insertion and removal of originals with the right hand while holding the handle 8 with the left hand. The wasteful motion is eliminated and the efficiency of the copying operation is improved. The operator opens and closes the cover 7 while keep pressing the switch 6 with the left hand at all times then the copying is started when the cover is closed and the operation is made efficient. |
