PURPOSE:The titled fillers giving a polyolefin resin with excellent stiffness, resistance to deterioration by thermal oxidation, mechanical strength, impact resistance, strength, and heat resistance, obtained by treating the surface of inorganic fillers with a specified silane compound. CONSTITUTION:One or more inorganic fillers with particle diameters of 0.01- 10mum, selected from among talc, mica, clay, CaCO3, BaSO4, zeolite, carbon black, silica, glass fibers, CaSiO3, powders of a metal, and a (hydr)oxide of a metal, are mixed by stirring with a solution (e.g. methanol) containing 0.1-20wt% silane compound of the formula (where R1-3 are each an alkyl of 1-4C; R4 is an alkyl of 1-6C; n is 1-3) at a temperature from ordinary temperature to 100 deg.C for 3min-3hr to treat the surface of the fillers, giving the surface-treated fillers. Then, 1-300pts.wt. above-mentioned fillers are incorporated into 100pts.wt. polyolefin resin, and the mixture is melt-compounded at 150-300 deg.C.
