PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost of a roll having a complicated shape and to miniaturize the shape thereof, in processing a sheet so as to provide a continuous undulating shape thereto, by manufacturing the molding roll used in said processing by comining a large number of thin gear shaped discs. CONSTITUTION:Each of molding cylinder parts 11, 16 is formed of a combined body comprising disc shaped bodies 17 each having an opening 18 provided to the center thereof and a large number of teeth 19 provided to the outer periphery thereof at equal pitches. These disc shaped bodies 17 are inlaid with intermediate body parts 8A, 14A integrated with shafts 8, 14 byusing keys so that teeth 19 of adjacent disc shaped bodies 17 are positionally shifted to each other in the circumferential direction. A thermoplastic resin sheet 1 is passed between molding rolls 7, 13 comprising thus combined gear shaped molding cylinder parts 11, 16 to continuously obtain an undulating shaped sheet 20. Because these molding rolls 7, 13 can be manufactured by combining a large number of disc shaped bodiew 17, the manufacturing cost thereof becomes extremely inexpensive. |
