PURPOSE:To shorten the waiting time for copying gets ready by turning on a motor which drives an optical system for slit exposure after a copy start key is turned on by the time a lens finishes moving for conducting variable power. CONSTITUTION:The presence/absence state, size, and position of an original are detected as shown by 9-11 and inputted to a microcomputer 50. Information on a copy is inputted with the start key, a copy magnification setting key, a zoom lens, etc., on a console panel which are not shown in a figure. The microcomputer 50 drives the motor 52 for the zoom lens 14f on the basis of the information to detect 55 the rotational extent of an encoder 54, and the output of a lens sensor 56 is inputted to the microcomputer 60 to move the lens 14f to a specific position. At the same time, a PLL control circuit 57 connected to the microcomputer 50 drives 59 the driving motor 58 of an optical system on the basis of said copy information to move an exposure lamp, reflector, mirror, etc., to specific positions. Consequently, the time from the specification of variable power to readiness of copying is shortened. |
