PURPOSE:To prepare a gel plate consisting essentially of polysaccharide, having improved strength, to which a medical component, etc. can be added, by making a polysaccharide gel plate from an aqueous solution of a polyhydric alcohol, drying the plate. CONSTITUTION:A polysaccharide containing at least carrageenan, having <=50wt%, preferably 0.1-30wt% concentration, and gelatinizing ability is dissolved in an aqueous solution of a polyhydric alcohol having a ratio of water/ polyhydric alcohol of 95/5-40/60 to give a solution, from which a gel plate is prepared by casting, molding, etc., then the gel plate is dried, to make a ratio of water/polyhydric alcohol of the gel plate <40/60. |
