PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to adjust finely a character array after input and improve operability by storing pieces of division information with predetermined priority, and comparing the length of input data with frame information and division information and controlling division positions of a character string. CONSTITUTION:When a character string consisting of plural lines is inputted, pieces of division information with predetermined priority as to combinations of KANJI (Chinese character), HIRAGANA (cursive form of Japanese syllabary), KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary), symbols, etc., are stored in a division storage area 33 so as to indicate where the character string is divided. A display division processing part 40 when the character string data from a storage device is long enough to extent to another line compares the length of data from a storage area 3B for overall data length with frame information from a frame size information storage area 3D and division information from an area 33. Then, division positions of the character strings consisting of plural lines are controlled on the basis of the comparison output to obtain easy-to-see character strings, which are displayed on a display device 50. |
