PURPOSE:To preserve pictures and sounds at a time and to hear the sound signals only through ears by converting the sounds into digital signals to transmit them together with the digital picture signals and printing the digital sound signals together with the digital picture signals turned into visible images on the same format on the print side. CONSTITUTION:The pictures on an original are read by a reader 400 and sent to a synthesizer 600 after A/D conversion, data compression 500 and parallel/serial conversion. The synthesizer 600 synthesizes the serial digital sound signal given from a memory 300 with the picture signal given from a data compressing device 500 and transmits them. While only the sound signal is extracted out of the synthetic signal received by a separator 700 at the print side and stored temporarily to a memory 1000. The read-out digital sounds are decoded by a decoder 1100 and undergo D/A conversion. Thus the sounds are delivered through a speaker 1200. The synthetic signal of the separator 700 is decoded by a decoder 800 to a state set before compression. Then both picture and sound signals are turned into visible images and printed by a printer 900.
