<p>A reaction base (10) for supporting a mechanical vibrator used to shake test components, the base (10) having parallel spaced beams (22 to 28) clamped between top and bottom plates (46, 48). End plates (62, 64) enclose the spaces between the beams (22 to 28), the spaces being filled with dry particulate matter. Inflatable bladders (86) in each space are inflated after assembly of the base (10) to compress the particulate matter against the confining surfaces of the beams (22 to 28), end plates (62, 64) and top and bottom plates (46, 48).</p> |
