PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the optical system of a diffuse power device by reflecting incident light to the 1st convergent reflecting mirror by a plane reflecting mirror and converging it on a sample, converging diffuse reflected light from the sample by the 2nd convergent reflecting mirror, and guiding it to a detection part through plane mirrors. CONSTITUTION:The Fourier transform spectrophotometer has a beam splitter, fixed mirror, and movable mirror. Then, an optical path selector mirror is changed over with time to obtain two optical paths. The diffuse powder reflecting device is installed on one of the two optical paths. The sample cell 26 is placed on a rotatable disk 27. The incident light is reflected by the plane reflecting mirror 21 and sent to the 1st convergent mirror 22. The sample 26 is irradiated with the light through the convergent mirror 22. The diffuse reflected light from the sample cell 26 is converged by the 2nd convergent mirror 23. The light converged by the convergent mirror 23 is reflected by plane reflecting mirrors 24 and 25 and guided to an exit.
