PURPOSE:To facilitate the conversion of a vehicle body between a close type and an open type in association with only one switching operation in accordance with the condition of weather even during running of the vehicle, by sliding a roof back and forth along front and rear guide rails as a guide to open and close the roof with the use of a drive force. CONSTITUTION:A roof 1 has a width and a length which may cover the area between the front windshield frame 2 and the rearshield frame 3, and is openable and closable, independently therefrom. Further, this roof 1 may be slid in the longitudinal direction thereof along front and rear guide rails 4, 5 as a guide to be opened and closed. The rear guide rails 5 are raised upto the same height as that of the front guide rails 4 and are connected to the rear ends of the front guide rails 4. Thereafter this rear guide rails 5 guide the roof 1 in compration with the front guide rails 4 to allow the roof 1 to slide back and forth for opening and closing operations, while when the roof 1 is opened, the rear guide rails 5 are stored above the upper surface of a rear trunk section 12, thereby the vehicle body may be converted between a close type and an open type. |
