PURPOSE:To obtain an original printing plate having high sensitivity and high printing resistance by forming on a conductive substrate an electrostatic charge generating layer contg. an azo pigment represented by a specified general formula and a charge transfer layer contg. a charge transfer material and an alkali- soluble resin. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer 3 is formed by coating the conductive substrate 1, such as an Al plate, with a coating soln. prepared by mixing an azo pigment represented by the formula where (A) is a coupler residue, and, when needed, a binder resin in an org. solvent, such as methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, or butyl acetate and uniformly dispersing them in a dispersing means, such as a ball mill, and drying the coated substrate 1. An electrophotographic sensitive layer 2 is formed by coating the layer 3 with a coating fluid prepared by dissolving the charge transfer material and the alkali-soluble resin in an org. solvent same as before, and drying it to laminate the charge transfer layer 4 on the charge generating layer 3. |
