OPTICAL TIME DIVISION SWITCH

PURPOSE:To increase the multiplex degree of an optical time division switch and to reduce the degree which is limited by the loss of the switch, by forming said time division switch with a two-input/two-output type switch and a delay line. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal supply part is connected optically to an input part 2 of a two-input/two-output type optical switch 1, and the other input part of the switch 1 is closed. An input part 6 at one side of the 2nd two-input/two- output optical switch 5 is connected optically to an output part 3 at one side of the switch 1 via a delay line 4. Then an input part 8 at the other side of the switch 5 is connected optically to an output part 7 at the other side of the switch 1. Thus a multiplex optical time division swith 10 is obtained. An output part 9 of the switch 5 serves as a multiplex time division output part of the switch 10. While the 2nd multiplex optical time division switch 20 consists of a two-input/two-output type optical switch 11 and a delay line 14 connected optically to an input part 13 and an output part 15 of the switch 11. The optical signal supplied through an input part 12 of the switch 11 is delivered through an output part 16. Thus the multiplex degree is increased for an optical time devision switch.
