PURPOSE:To display the time and calendar on a picture plane and to confirm visually an unset state of a timepiece by securing a calendar display mode of the relevant month when a data is set to a TV receiver and then an automatic calendar changing mode when no date is set to the TV receiver respectively. CONSTITUTION:A mode switching key 28 and a timer key 29 which turns on and off a reserved timer are connected to a control circuit 20 containing a program timer function using a microcomputer of a TV receiver. A CRT control circuit 25 incorporated to a character generator is actuated by a command of the circuit 20 to supply character signals SR-SB to a CRT5. While the circuit 20 applies the control signals to an electronic tuning circuit 12, video output circuit 4 and a sound control circuit 27. When a date is set by keys 28 and 29, a calendar mode of the corresponding month is set. While an automatic calender changing mode is set when no date is set. Then the time and the calender are displayed on the CRT scope. Thus an unreset state of a timepiece can be confirmed visually and easily.
