PURPOSE:To make it possible to supply ordinary ink to the leading end of a needle, by arranging a holding member comprising a porous dielectric material and the electrodes opposed so as to interpose said holding member to the ink supply part connected to an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:When an electrode 15 is connected to a power source 21 by a switch 20, ink 23 is flowed to a porous holding member 14 from an ink tank toward the upper part of an ink supply part 9 by electroosmotic action and adhered to needles 17 and needle orifices 18, 19 are slid to form dots. Because the ink 23 is supplied to the needles 17 by electroosmotic action as mentioned above, the indication of a color is freely determined by using usual ink and discoloration after printing can be prevented. By changing over the polarities of electrodes 15, 16 by changing over a change-over switch 20 after printing is finished, the ink 23 of the supply part 9 can be rapidly returned to the tank by electroosmotic action and, by covering the supply part with a case 10, the drying of the ink can be prevented still more. |
