PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having high quality, strong for thermal shock and suitable as sliding material, etc. by composing said material of porous ceramic skeleton and metals impregnated into pores of said skeleton. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of the ceramics contg. >= one kind among ZrO2, Al2O3, >= one kind among Y2O3, CaO, MgO, SiO2 and whisker composed of >=one kind among SiC, Si3N4, ZrO2, Al2O3 is prepared. Said mixture is sintered at 1,000-1,300 deg.C to make the porous ceramic skeleton. One among Al, Al alloy, Mg, Mg alloy, Cu, Cu alloy, Ni, Ni alloy, Cr, Cr alloy, Mo, Mo alloy is impregnated in the pores of said porous ceramics, to obtain the metallic composite material reinforced by ceramics particles.
